M.B. Shetty was an Indian film actor and producer who primarily worked in the Kannada film industry. He was born on January 29, 1929, in Udupi, Karnataka, and began his acting career in 1955 with the film Bedara Kannappa. He went on to act in more than 300 films in different languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. Shetty was also a successful film producer and produced films under his banner, Jayashree Productions. Some of his notable films include Daari Tappida Maga, Masanada Hoovu, Bangarada Manushya, and Sipayi. He was also honored with numerous awards for his contribution to the film industry, including the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Padma Shri award in 2000. M.B. Shetty passed away on October 17, 2006.
